Members of the Winchester Chapter of the Izaak Walton have the privilege to use and enjoy Ernie Neff lake. The lake is named for our past president, who was a community leader and had a true love for fishing and conservation.
The Lake and Conservation committee is dedicated to the improvement and maintenance of the lake, Chapter forests, trails and campground. Getting involved is a great family activity that can bring people together for an amazing stewardship experience.

Lake Neff is open to area youth groups!
The Winchester Chapter of the Izaak Walton League is non-profit organization dedicated to getting
youth into the outdoors. Our lake is available to youth organizations for a fun outing. There are shelters with grills on the lake.
We are happy to coordinate with your group for a youth fishing activity. We can provide loaner fishing equipment and a volunteer (or 2) to assist with the event.
For every picture we have in our wall of fame, there are hundreds of pictures of youth just excited to catch fish!!!

Have you seen the big fish? Large fish are a common sight but also impossible to catch because they are herbivores. These fish include grass carp, common carp and Koi. They provide an essential function of eating weeds (which means they don't eat worms!). They often swim together in synchronicity and are an amazing to watch!
